Gods will vs our own will

1 John 5:14 “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”

Sometimes when were in a dark place we pray for things that will make us temporarily happy and that just sets us up for another dark place. If we keep an eternal perspective then we can trust God because we know our future is in his hands and because he sent Jesus to save us we are bound for an eternity of happiness in heaven with our savior. To get yourself out of the dark place do not pray for a temporary fix but pray that you see the work that God is doing in your life so that you can do your part in his divine plan. In scripture God has never asked us to live our own plan because that would be putting ourselves above God, but what he has asked us is to live his will and anything we ask “according to his will” shall be given to us. Where our will is weak Gods will is strong and where our will lacks depth Gods will for us is deeper then the ocean and wider then the universe but our human perspective is to weak to even imagine the beauty God has destined for us.
As children of God we must realize that we were not made to live our own plan because we are filled with sin and with sin comes an ending of death but if we allow ourselves to fully live Gods plan then we are on the path of life with an ending of eternity. Now which one sounds better? Who is more trustworthy ourselves or the all-knowing, creator of all, and forever loving God. To me the answer is easy, God has never let anyone down ever so to think he will let us down is foolish. Jesus has promised us that if we believe in him then Gods will for us is everlasting “For this is the will of God, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.(John 6:40)”
The will we have for ourselves is one that only has to do with this life, but the will God has for us is one that extends into heaven to live forever in a place where you will forever be safe. How great of a promise has Jesus made us that when we put our full faith in Him that we can live forever without worry because we know that Gods plan for us is a part of his great story of redemption.
An important part of Gods will is to live a Christ driven life one filled with love and forgiveness as God has loved and forgave us. Allow yourself to go to God humbly and ask that he allows you to see that your feet are on his path and that your steps direct you towards him. When you recognize Gods will for us then you recognize that doing the right thing is not only good but it is the way of wisdom.”For it is God’s will that by doing right you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.(1 Peter 2:15)”
Just as Jesus and his followers were looked down upon by the foolish so too will we as believers, but if we recognize Gods will for us then we see that persecution comes at us as a test of faith and we are all part of Gods plan for ultimate redemption. In any situation you may face keep the faith in our savior cemented in not only your heart but your soul and allow the gracious hand of God to keep you on the path he has predestined for us.

Gods love for us is true love

Romans 8:38-39
“I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The greatest act of love ever made was when God sent Jesus to suffer and die for us. For us, yes you and me not for his personal gain but so that we could live. He loves us more than any human could ever put into perspective. How amazing does that feel and for God to do that out of love and mercy just shows how extraordinary God is.
As humans we are going to face many trials and many sufferings but as children of God we can know that nothing and I do mean not one thing can separate us from the love of God. He loves us so much that he would do anything for us and has proven that already. As undeserving as we are as sinners God has saved us with the Love he shows by sending Jesus to die in OUR place.That should be us on that cross but yet we have been saved. Our hearts were full of sin and Jesus died with this sin but once He was resurrected we were given eternal life through the spirit and that is true love.
God will love us no matter what we do but we can not over look the importance of a relationship with God. If we sin daily yet ask for forgiveness we are forgiven yes, but is that all we want is forgiveness from the God who loves us more than we could ever imagine, the God that created us, the God that put our family and friends in our life as a blessing. Without God there would be no us and without Jesus we would be living a life full of sin with death in our future, but with the gracious hand of God and the savior of Jesus we have eternal life in our future. If we put this into perspective then we realize how little we truly love God in comparison to his love for us. If we want to inherit the fruits of the earth we must love God as he loved us. Our faith in him must strengthen so we too can love him without any restraints. The more we learn about God the more we put his love into perspective and see that a life without God is turning away from the person who has and always will love us more than anything or anyone else. He will always forgive us for our sin but will we forgive ourselves if we don’t strengthen our relationship with him? God loves us for who we are so we cannot love God for what he has done for us but we should love God for who he is. Lets get closer to God instead of waiting for him to get closer to us. He deserves all the glory because he gave us life when we were filled with death. Don’t just be happy with being forgiven but pursue to live with the God who forgave you daily.

I pray that we pursue God for who he is and not for what he can do for us. I pray that we put his love into perspective and try to strengthen our own love for him. I pray too that the non believers can see the truth through the words and also ask for their own forgiveness. I truly love writing about our unequalled God and for all the love he has shown me I forever give him all the glory.

Faith is the key!

1 Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect”

Be careful with your tongue if your heart does not back up your words. Keep your heart for Jesus as your savior. If you speak of Jesus as your savior and you are questioned why and you have empty words then your heart was empty of truth. The truth will build the house that we as believers live in. The more truth we have the more defense we have against the people who question our God. Do not defend with anger but attack with hope and love. If we stand firm in our faith with Christ as our lord we can spread the truth of his word and show why we as believers give glory to our God in all that we do and encounter.

If our actions are Christ driven then too will our words be. If we have faith in the truth then those who seek the truth will look to us for answers. We as children of God can give the answers to this questions in the form of Christ, if we are filled with the spirit so too are we filled with the faith and hope. The stronger they see our faith is the more revealing is the truth. As followers of Jesus we must know WHY we are followers, and this why is so important. Our faith must be strong in the why, so strong that if we were going to be prosecuted if we said we were followers that we were the first one to stand up and say I BELIEVE! It sounds crazy right to give your life for your belief,how ordinary and weak does that make us look in the comparison of our unequalled God sending his son to die for us knowing that we would not even BELIEVE in him, yet his faith in us never changed or weakened. A strong faith doesn’t happen over night, but we must work on it daily and prepare ourselves for that day that we are asked WHY? If we live with God instead of for God then in all of life’s questions we can answer with Him instead of for Him! Use your community as a mountain top to stand on and say I believe and as the truth comes out of you and your faith is revealed the answers to their questions are too.

As you get questioned by non believers do not look at them as stupid but look at them as weak as once you and I all were weak. Respect their opinion but show them that where we lack as people, God is there. When we are weak God gives us strength and if we drink from the well of Christ then we will never be thirsty! When God filled us with his spirit he filled us with the truth and it is our duty as children of God to spread the truth throughout the world.

I pray to you Lord that you give us courage to follow you at any cost and when questioned about our faith may we speak the truth that you are. Amen!

The door that is waiting for a knock

Matthew 7:8 “For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”

God is waiting for you to knock on his door, he’s waiting for you to ask him for his help as he knows that without his spirit we are just flesh and with flesh comes death, but with his spirit comes life!

If we ask God to fill us with his spirit through Jesus then we are no longer of just flesh but we have become the spirit. We have asked for just help but we have received much more, we have received life. I pray today that God fills us with his spirit so that we are filled with the truth. When we have become new through the spirit the truth will flow through us like a river and sin will flee from our hearts. Lets not ask God for what we want but lets ask God for him, lets seek the truth, and the door to new life will be opened to us! The more truth we have the stronger our faith is, lets pray for the truth and the strength of our faith will become cemented in our hearts where no matter what we face we will have God at the front of our heart and minds and we will be filled with the spirit.

The new you

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

What if someone told you that no matter how much bad you’ve done or how many times you’ve done it that you can be forgiven and have all that bad erased, sounds like a good deal right? Well that is what God is offering us, if we truly accept that Jesus is the son of God and that he was sent as our savior then we can truly ask for forgiveness and it will be given! Not only will we be forgiven for our sins but we will be loved as if we were perfect and our hearts will be forever filled with the mercy of God.

Ezekiel 36:26 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh”

God doesn’t want us to start our lives over he wants us to become new at heart and spirit through Jesus and use the rest of our lives to be the light of the world showing others how great our God is. We can change at anytime we can throw the old us away and make room for a future of a God driven person with a heart full of love and a mind full of faith. God has put the offer for a new you on the table 2000 years ago and has not and will never take the offer back and for that we can be forever grateful. Seek God out of desire to live with him and all that he has blessed us with. Do not seek him out of obligation because he will see the weak faith you have in him, but pray for the truth and that truth will set you free of the temptation to live for idol gods and will bring you closer to the one and only God. The new us will be revealed as we are filled with the love and grace of God. The more we trust in Gods plan for us the easier time we have ridding sin from our hearts and minds. Do not dwell on the past because everything that happened was Gods plan and if we trust his plan then we know that all things were for a reason and with that allow the new you to focus on your future WITH God instead of your past without! The new you wont have a different name or a different physical look, but the new you will have a renewed heart, a new spirit filled with Gods holiness and a mind full of thoughts about loving others as God has loved us.As a follower of God we should love not only friends and family but we should love strangers just as much because they too are children of God. Not only will you notice the new you but Gods word will be spoken loudly in your faith driven actions, you wont have to say a word and yet people will see Gods love pouring from your heart. Once you have allowed God to fill you with the truth you have all the weapons you need to fight the sin that fills our hearts. The truth will set you free and once you find Jesus you have found the truth!

Our God is truly amazing all his actions and words through Jesus have been in our favor, his love for us is so great that he would do anything for us and once you have become new through Christ then will you live to give God glory through all your actions. The old you will never be satisfied but the new you will forever be satisfied through Jesus knowing that if all we have is God then we have all we need!

I hope everyone enjoys reading the word as much as I enjoy spreading the word and I know the new me thanks God everyday for allowing myself to become new through his son for that ill be forever humbled as I know I am just ordinary but our God is unequalled.

The medicine for suffering and pain

Romans 8:18  “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

1 Peter 5:9-10   ^“Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace,who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

This topic is so close to everyones heart and and for so many suffering has impacted our lives greatly. This first thing we must do as children of God is know that suffering is going to happen no matter who we are. I think Charles Spurgeon said it best “Jesus does not suffer so as to exclude your suffering. He bears a cross, not that you may escape it, but that you may endure it. Christ exempts you from sin, but not from sorrow. Remember that, and expect to suffer.” (Spurgeon ME192). Jesus was the son of God and he is the only person to walk this earth as a perfect follower of God and yet he still suffered so we as people with sin in our hearts can only expect to suffer too. Theres good news though and that is that no matter how painful your suffering is and how long you suffer God has promised that the glory of eternal life is no comparison to any suffering we will go through. How amazing is that, knowing that no matter what we go through and how much we suffer that God will not only forgive us for our sins but He will let us live in Heaven with him FOREVER without pain and suffering. How short does the pain and suffering seem in comparison to a forever of love, grace, compassion, forgiveness and a sin free heart. If you put the two in comparison knowing that God has never left your side even in your darkest hours and having full faith in God then through all your pain and suffering you can have a full heart knowing that the compassion and love that you will receive will be greater then you could ever imagine.

Can you figure out what the medicine for suffering and pain is yet? Well the answer is God, he is the medicine. Have full faith in Gods plan know that he is guiding your steps and he sees the bumps in the road too. He’s not only going to help you through the pain but he is going to use that to bring you closer to him. Behind every moment there is a reason, good or bad and only God knows his reason but what we can do is trust and use his guidance and allow him to use our stories to give him Glory and show how amazing his love for us truly is. I always tell people without our bad days we would never appreciate the good ones. That goes for God as well, if we were never tempted to sin or if we were never hurting then we could never truly appreciate Gods love for us. He’s here for us at all times and no matter how long our list of sins is once we give ourselves to God and ask for forgiveness then he takes us back like we never did anything wrong. How awesome is our God that through him all things are possible and that he will love us as he made us and not for what others want us to be. There is nothing here on earth that can truly heal us of our pain but there are only temporary fixes. God is not only are longtime fix but he is our forever fix. Think of it this way, if someone told you that if you went 3 days without eating or drinking you would win a million dollars a lot of people would atleast attempt it. Not eating or drinking for 3 days would be very hard to do but with the million dollars in our future they would do everything they could to do it. Most people would make there bodies suffer for the temporary money because it would greatly benefit them temporarily. That is where most people go wrong, trying to cure pain with temporary worldy medicine when Gods promise is one that is not temporary but everlasting. What God has promised us is that if we have 100% faith in Him through our life’s suffering that we can live forever with him in Heaven and our joy and happiness will be far greater with no comparison to the pain and suffering we endured in our life on earth. If we keep this eternal life in our future sights then we can know that everything is gonna be okay and If we can allow others to see that through our own pain that God has loved us endlessly they too can find God and see the light that will never go dim in any type of darkness. Allow ourselves to use scripture to comfort us and others in times of need, Gods word is never far and it is always uplifting.

James 1:2-4 “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

Allow the testing of your faith to strengthen it and bring you closer to God, what you may think of as bad experiences can sometimes be Gods best teachings. In all times give God glory and pray that he guides you in his path and not your own. If you put your faith in God then you can know that you will forever be in the gracious hands of the creator of all things. God is not great sometimes , God is great at ALL times. I am forever grateful knowing that through all mistakes with God I can be forgiven and loved as much as ill ever need! When you “think” no one is there for you that is when you can KNOW that is God is there for you.

Living Gods plan

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Jeremiah 29:13 “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (KJV)

Isaiah 58:11 “The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters never fail.” (NIV)

Let me start by asking you this, If your in a relationship with someone and you only give 25% or even 75% is it gonna work? Well i can tell you that its not gonna work because the other person is going to be giving 100% because they love you that much and expect you to love them just as much then they are only gonna accept 100%. Thats how our relationship with God needs to be, If we want to truly live in the Gods Kingdom we must fully give ourself’s to our creator. We cant just trust God when everything is going good, but proving our faith in God when everything isn’t going as well for us is just as important. God gives us way more then we deserve, I mean who else do you know that would allow us to go against them for so long and yet when we give everything to God he shows us what true love is. You cant just go to church on sunday and just praise him for that hour and assume thats what it takes to have eternal life with God, and you cant just involve christ in some acitivites. You MUST do all things with a christ driven attitude having full faith in Gods work. You cannot claim you love God yet your actions speak otherwise because other people may not see but our all-knowning God not only sees that he sees everything including the thoughts in our minds and the feelings in our hearts. Never have I seen in the bible where Jesus has asked his followers to give God only some of their heart and only have faith sometimes, but everywhere I have seen the word “all” and don’t take that word lightly because it has a very simple meaning and if ALL is given to God then our vision is no longer blurry but it is revealing to a new life. How can we expect to live Gods plan for us if we cannot truly have faith in him. Sometimes our faith is so weak because we have faith in the wrong things. If your faith has been wavered through a struggle then maybe what God is trying to show you is that you have faith in the wrong things. What God wants you to know that is if you have 100% faith in him and nothing less then your faith will never weaken and will only become stronger through anything. We must stop living for ourselves and must start living with God, if we live for ourselves then we have put ourselves above are creator. God can only give you the fruits of the earth once we have truly allowed ourselves to live with God. There will never be a greater love shown then by God to his children and for that we must give all the glory to God not just now not just tomorrow but every second we have because without him none of this is possible! In all of our lives we search for something more and once we find it we again search for something more, but let me tell you once we have found God and are giving him 100% of everything we have then is the search truly over and we can forever live knowing that our lives are in the hands of our God our creator our savior and that is the only hands our lives should be in!

The mercy of God

Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the holy spirt”

 

First of all thank you God for sending Jesus to die for us so that we could be saved. We are all sinners and without your mercy we could not have been saved. The ability to be able to repent for our sins is truly a great blessing, the true love shown by God is a pure love one that is only given by our creator. Without Jesus dying for our sins and renewing us through the holy spirit we would live a life of sin with out a way to repent. This is the greatest story i’ve ever heard, people my age wonder why i’m in love with Jesus and i ask, how could I not be when He gave up his life so that I could be saved and live forever in Heaven. In all our daily tasks as we face obstacles of sin and temptation think of Jesus on the cross suffering so that we could live free without the shackles of sin. Allow your choices to be made with faith that God will forever be at your side and with his plan we cannot fail. Give all your glory to God knowing that He loves you more than you could ever imagine.
